Officially Opened UNESA's Environmentally and Entrepreneurially-Oriented Masters Program in Mechanical Engineering

Surabaya, March 2025 –
Surabaya State University (UNESA) officially opens registration for new
students of the first semester of the Master of Mechanical Engineering Program of
2025/2026.
This program is an answer
to the increasing need for professional personnel in the field of mechanical
engineering with expertise in renewable energy as consultants, smart energy
management system developers and entrepreneurial engineers in renewable energy.
This focus field of the Master of Mechanical Engineering program of Unesa is a unique feature which is
different from other Master of Mechanical program in Indonesia.
With a vision of becoming a
leading study program in the development of science and technology in the field
of mechanical engineering that is environmentally friendly and entrepreneurial,
the Master of Mechanical Engineering of Unesa offers four areas of interest,
namely:
1. Renewable Energy
This field focuses on
research and development of environmentally friendly and sustainable energy
technology. Students will study various renewable energy sources such as:
- Solar energy development
- Wind energy development
- Ocean energy development
- Alternative energy
- Windmill development
- Wind and water turbine development
2. Energy Conversion
Engineering
This concentration focuses on the process of converting energy from one form to another with high efficiency. Students will study technologies such as:
- Fluid mechanics
development
- Two-phase flow
- Biomass pyrolysis
- Combustion technology
- Heat exchanger development
- Hydrogen production
technology
- Fuel cell technology
- Hydrogen energy
3. Materials and
Manufacturing Engineering
This concentration focuses
on research and development of new materials and modern manufacturing
technologies. Some of the main aspects studied include:
- Systems design and
engineering
- Material and biomaterial
development
- Biocomposite development
4. Vehicle Engineering
This concentration discusses
various aspects of modern vehicle technology, including electric and
alternative energy-based vehicles. Students will study:
- 4-stroke combustion engine
technology
- Electric vehicle
technology
- Hydrogen energy vehicle
Each area of interest in
this program is designed to support the development of a greener, more
efficient, and more sustainable industry, in line with future technology needs.
Duration of Study
This study program is
designed to be completed in a period of 1.5 to 2 years with a total study load
of 56 credits covering basic, special, elective, and thesis courses.
Facilities and Lecturers
Students will have access to
sophisticated laboratories, such as the Electric Vehicle Lab, Engine
Performance Testing Lab, Advanced Material Lab, Aerodynamics Lab, Computer
Aided Engineering (CAE) Lab, other Labs and comfortable classroom facilities.

Tuition Fees and
Registration Process
The tuition fees for this
program are available in two schemes:
- Regular (IDR
6,000,000/semester)
- Collaboration (IDR
7,500,000/semester).
Registration is done online
via https://pmb.unesa.ac.id/ by selection stages that include registration,
uploading documents, and entrance tests for those who meet the academic
requirements.
With the opening of this
Mechanical Engineering Masters Program, UNESA is committed to producing
graduates who are ready to compete and contribute to renewable energy
technology innovation in Indonesia.
